Special Events

Throughout the year, SBS puts on memorable events that create lasting memories for the community. Some of these events are open to the public. The following are just a few examples; active participants and volunteers should stay up-to-date via email updates and our program calendar.

SBS Talent Show

One of our marquee annual events, this past spring’s talent show was witnessed by an audience of over 600 people and featured over 60 performers of all abilities on stage, as well as an art gallery.

Advent Arts Project

Every fall, members of the SBS community prepare art projects of all kinds to help the community experience Advent, the season of preparation for Christmas and the birth of Jesus.

The culmination of the project is our annual Advent Arts Service in early December, which is open to the public.

Farm Days and Fall Festival

Once a month from April through October, some friends of SBS who have a beautiful farm property host a group for an all-day Saturday Farm Day. Activities include: horseback riding, feeding animals, hiking the woods, walking along the river, picking flowers, and lounging in the shade of maple trees. Every October, we kick it up a notch by hosting a Fall Festival complete with a chili cookoff!

Friendsgiving

A.k.a. Thanksgiving with friends! The weekend before Thanksgiving, SBSers gather for a huge feast and a time to share gratitude for all that this community means to us.
