What Side by Side Means To Me

On September 22, beloved participant Brittany Howard bravely stood in front of 200 people and shared about her love for SBS. Here is a copy of her speech.

Hello everyone and Welcome to our Side by Side Fundraiser.

My Name is Brittany, and I have been a part of SBS since the beginning of Spring 2020.

I’m sure most of you are wondering what SBS is and what it means? If I can please have a few moments of your time I would like to tell you about SBS and what it means to me.

SBS is a safe, fun community for people of all ages and all abilities; we accept everyone and we welcome them all with open arms.

SBS means a lot to me, it’s a place of Love, Laughter, Friendship and where people really care a lot about you. For example, we have activities such as morning prayer, singing and worship, SBS huddles/ home groups, and also my favorite - walking as a big group.

The friends I have made here at SBS are amazing and fun to be around. I would Love to tell you about my Friend Kristy Wilkinson and our amazing friendship. I met her at SBS in 2020: she’s funny, sweet, caring, and a very loving person. She has a Heart of gold, she makes me so happy when we get to talk and hangout, she’s the highlight of my day. I gave her the nick name ‘diva Kristy’ because she brings out this diva side of her that I really Love.
